10:05 Ambassadors Welcome: The Lay of the Land
Local dairy farming legends shine a light on the regenerative scene in the South West. As ambassadors for Land Alive, they share their vision for the day, the future of Land Alive events, and how this platform can be a catalyst for advancing regenerative dairy farming across the region

Leona McDonald, Sales & Marketing Director, First Milk
Oliver Lee, Founder & Farmer, How Now Dairy

10:15 Opening Keynote: A Vision for the Future of Dairy Farming
The future of dairy lies in nature-based farming that goes beyond carbon to embrace soil, water, biodiversity, and animal welfare. Farmers must be supported to transition at a pace that works for them, backed by strong supply chain partnerships that invest in their success.

Lee Truelove, Head of Regenerative Farming, First Milk

10:30: Keynote: Measuring Nutrient Density in Dairy Farming
This keynote examines how measuring nutrient density in dairy farming can unlock healthier soils, stronger ecosystems, and improved human well-being. By focusing on quality and nutrition rather than farming labels, it highlights a path to transform agriculture into a driver of both sustainability and health.

Dan Kittredge, Founder and Executive Director, Bionutrient Food Association

10:45 Financing the Future of Regenerative Dairy: De-Risking the Transition
Unlocking a mass-scale transition to regenerative dairy demands accessible, flexible, and innovative finance models that empower farmers to invest in soil health, biodiversity, animal welfare, and climate resilience without compromising their livelihoods. This session brings together finance leaders to share proven approaches - from flexible transition loans to supply chain funding partnerships - and explore how to de-risk farmer investment, reward verified environmental outcomes, and make regenerative dairy the standard rather than the exception.

Harry Farnsworth, Regenerative Agriculture & Carbon Innovation, Rabobank
Thomas Slattery, Communications Specialist, The ADOPT Support Hub
Lee Truelove, Head of Regenerative Farming, First Milk

11:30 The Regenerative Dairy Value Chain: Retailers and the Supply Chain
This session will explore how retailers, processors, and supply chain partners can work collaboratively with farmers to scale regenerative dairy production. With consumer demand for sustainable products on the rise, the dairy sector faces a unique opportunity, and challenge, to align commercial viability with environmental and social outcomes. We’ll unpack the economic, logistical, and cultural shifts needed to make regenerative dairy mainstream, while ensuring that farmers are rewarded fairly for delivering better soil health, biodiversity gains, climate resilience, and animal welfare.

Leona McDonald, Sales & Marketing Director, First Milk
Mike Hanley, Commercial Director, Soil Association Exchange
Nick Jefferson, Founder & CEO, Wylde Market
Pete Russell, Founder, Ooooby
Moderator: Clare Hill, Co-Founder of Planton Farm, Roots to Regeneration

12:15 The Long Road to Regenerative: A Dairy Farmer’s Journey
Behind every litre of milk lies a story of land, animals, people, and choices. This panel delves into the lived reality of moving from conventional to regenerative dairy - the five-plus-year journey to rebuild soil biology, the tough seasons when yields drop, the decisions that test conviction, and the small wins that keep farmers going. We’ll tackle the big debates: what “regenerative” really means, whether it’s worth it, if carbon should be the primary measure of progress, and how farmers can be fairly rewarded for delivering environmental and social benefits. Expect an unvarnished conversation about risk, resilience, and the human side of farming change - the hopes, doubts, and determination driving a better future for dairy.

13:00 Grazing Livestock for Regenerative Dairy - Film Screening

Sophie Gregory & Sustainable Food Trust

14:00 Case Study: Switching to foliar feeding systems with biological inputs – insights from an Innovate UK trial

This session shares practical lessons from an Innovate UK trial on dairy farms, demonstrating how farms can substitute 30–50% of nitrogen use with lower-cost, sustainable alternatives. It will explore the agronomic case for change, key findings from the trial, and the economic, environmental, and productivity benefits for farm businesses.

Tom Tolputt, Founder, Terrafarmer Agriculture
Leslie Dwyer, Sales Manager – Europe, Tow & Fert

14:20 Dairy, Diet & Health: From Soil to Livestock to Human
From the ground up, dairy links soil health, animal welfare, and human nutrition. This session explores how well-managed grazing builds fertile soils, how cows turn inedible grass and rainwater into nutrient-rich food, and why new research is reframing dairy’s role in protecting heart health and preventing disease. We’ll also uncover dairy’s hidden nutritional benefits -from anti-inflammatory Omega-3s to natural probiotics - and ask what this means for the future of food.

Stuart Rogers, Tenant, Longmoor Farm
Claire Whittle, The Regenerative Vet
Kate Still, Head of Farming, Soil Association

15:15 Conscientious Cheese: From Field to Cracker
What does a truly regenerative cheeseboard look like? This panel takes you on a journey from soil to slice, with a farmer–cheesemaker, a wholesaler–retailer, and a chef each sharing their unique perspective. We’ll explore the realities of multi-generational farming, making distinctive cheese in a crowded market, ageing, and supplying artisan cheese to both neighbourhood shops and London’s top eateries, and how chefs translate regenerative values into dishes that delight diners. Expect behind-the-scenes stories, honest reflections on the challenges and rewards of regenerative food, and a taste of what the future holds for cheese with conscience.
